## Biography

Eduardo Conde was a Brazilian actor, singer and model. Born in Recife on 9 April 1946, he began his career as a singer in 1967. In the 1970s he starred as Jesus Christ in the Brazilian production of the musical *Jesus Cristo Superstar*.

He appeared in Brazilian films including *Os Saltimbancos Trapalhões* (1981) and *Os Trapalhões na Serra Pelada* (1982), and in international productions such as *Blame It on Rio* (1984) and *The Emerald Forest* (1985), in which he played Uwe Werner. On television he had roles in series including *Plumas e Paetês* (1980) and *O Beijo do Vampiro* (2002). For many years he presented awards at the Brasília Film Festival.

Conde was married to actress and model Betty Lago. He died in Petrópolis on 16 January 2003.
