Edward Allen Bernero, also credited as Ed Bernero, is an American television writer, producer and director. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on 29 August 1962, he spent ten years as a police officer with the Chicago Police Department before beginning his television career.

He started as a freelance writer on *Brooklyn South* (1997) and contributed a teleplay to *NYPD Blue* (1997). Bernero co-created *Third Watch* (1999–2005) with John Wells, writing, producing and directing episodes on the series. He later served as executive producer on *Criminal Minds* (2005–2011) and co-created the spin-off *Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior* (2011). He created and executive produced *Crossing Lines* (2013).
