## Biography

Edward Bennett is a British film and television director. Born in 1950 in Cambridge, England, he was educated at Eton College.

His feature film *Ascendancy* (1983) won the Golden Bear at the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival; he served on the jury the following year. Bennett has directed episodes of series including *Inspector Morse* (1987), *Agatha Christie's Poirot* (1989), *Waking the Dead* (2001–2011), *Death in Paradise* (2011) and *Grantchester* (2014). He has also written for television and film.
