Edward Kaufman (1893–1955) was an American screenwriter and film producer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he began his career in the silent era and worked extensively in Hollywood during the 1930s and 1940s.

His writing credits include the screenplay for the Fred Astaire–Ginger Rogers musical *The Gay Divorcee* (1934), as well as *Romance in Manhattan* (1935), *Star of Midnight* (1935), *Hips, Hips, Hooray!* (1934) and *Affectionately Yours* (1941). He also produced or served as associate producer on titles including *Charlie Chan at Treasure Island* (1939), *News Is Made at Night* (1939) and *Song of Scheherazade* (1947). Kaufman was married to actress Thelma Salter.
