Edward R. Brown, also credited as Edward R. Brown Sr. and Ed Brown, is a cinematographer and member of the American Society of Cinematographers. He began his career as a camera operator in 1966 before moving to director of photography roles on feature films from 1972, starting with *The Hot Rock*.

Brown served as director of photography on the first two seasons of the television series *Star Trek: The Next Generation* (1987–1989). His other credits include the mini-series *Eleanor and Franklin* (1976), for which he shared a Primetime Emmy Award, and regular series such as *Remington Steele* (1982–1984) and *Scarecrow and Mrs. King* (1984–1986). He received additional Emmy nominations for his work on *Scarecrow and Mrs. King* and *Star Trek: The Next Generation*, and later taught at film schools.
