## Biography

Elaine Collins is a Scottish actress and television producer. Born on 21 April 1958 in Lanarkshire, she began acting in the 1970s and appeared in guest roles in series including *Play for Today* and *City Lights*. Her credits include Lisa in *EastEnders* (1997) and Mrs Grant in the film *Mrs Brown* (1997).

From the 2000s Collins worked increasingly in production. She was associate producer on *Strictly Sinatra* (2001) and script editor on *A Touch of Frost* (2008–2010). She joined ITV Studios in 2011 as producer and executive producer on *Vera* (2011–2015). She later served as executive producer on *Shetland* (2013–2016) and *Criminal Record* (2024–).

Collins has been married to actor Peter Capaldi since 1991 and they have one child.
