## Biography

Elan Mastai is a Canadian screenwriter and novelist. He was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, and studied film at Queen's University and Concordia University.

His screenwriting credits include *MVP 2: Most Vertical Primate* (2001), *Alone in the Dark* (2005), *The Samaritan* (2012) and *What If* (2013, also known as *The F Word*), for which he won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. He served as a staff writer and producer on the NBC series *This Is Us* (2016–2022), receiving a Primetime Emmy nomination. Mastai is also the author of the novel *All Our Wrong Todays* (2017).
