Eleanore Griffin was an American screenwriter who worked in Hollywood from 1937 to 1964. She began her career at Universal Studios writing treatments and stories, later contributing to films at MGM, Paramount, Fox and Disney.

Griffin received an Academy Award for best original story, shared with Dore Schary, for *Boys Town* (1938). Her other credits include the story for *The Harvey Girls* (1946), the screenplay for *In Old Oklahoma* (1943), and the screenplay, co-written with Allan Scott, for *Imitation of Life* (1959). She also wrote screenplays for *Good Morning, Miss Dove* (1955), *A Man Called Peter* (1955), *Third Man on the Mountain* (1959) and *Back Street* (1961).
