## Biography

Eleni Anousaki is a Greek actress and former politician. She was born on 1 May 1944 in Athens. Her parents were actress Malaina Anousaki and tenor Evangelos Anousakis. She made her screen debut at the age of six in the 1950 film *I Sinned for My Child*.

Anousaki trained at the Drama School of the National Theatre and appeared in *The Red Lanterns* (1963). She studied in Italy at Cinecittà and had a role in Carol Reed’s *The Agony and the Ecstasy* (1965). She is known for her supporting role as Lola in *Zorba the Greek* (1964) and for work in Greek cinema, theatre and television during the 1960s and 1970s. She later served as a member of the Hellenic Parliament for Athens with PASOK between 1989 and 2004. She is married to director and cinematographer Dimitris Papakonstadis.
