Elijah Kelley is an American actor, singer and dancer. Born on 1 August 1986 in LaGrange, Georgia, he attended Troup County High School and participated in its show choir. He began performing as a child in family gospel music and Coca-Cola commercials before moving to Los Angeles after graduation to pursue acting.

Kelley made his screen debut in the 1998 television film *Mama Flora's Family* and appeared in *28 Days* (2000). He gained wider recognition for his role as Seaweed J. Stubbs in the 2007 film *Hairspray*. Subsequent credits include *Take the Lead* (2006), *Red Tails* (2012), *The Butler* (2013) as Charlie Gaines, *Strange Magic* (2015, voice) and the television series *Star* (2017–2018). He received ensemble cast awards for *Hairspray*.
