## Biography

Elisabeth Waelchli is a Swiss film editor, screenwriter and director, also credited as Elizabeth Wälchli. She studied sociology in Lausanne and attended the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin. Since 1976 she has worked as an independent editor on fiction and documentary films.

Waelchli edited *Yol* (1982), which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, as well as *Die Spieldosenstraße* (1996), which she also directed. She has maintained a long collaboration with director Peter Entell on several documentaries, including *Le tube* (2001) and *A Home Far Away* (2013).
