## Biography

Elizabeth Alexander, also credited as Liz Alexander, is an Australian actress, director and teacher. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, she attended All Hallows' School in Brisbane and graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1973.

Her acting career began with a role in the series *Bellbird* (1967). After NIDA she played Esther Wolcott in the ABC series *Seven Little Australians* (1973), for which she received a Logie Award for Best New Talent. Film credits include *Summerfield* (1977) as Jenny Abbott, *The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith* (1978) as Petra Graf, *The Killing of Angel Street* (1981) and *Blueback* (2022) as Older Dora. Television work includes *Farscape* (1999) as Vella, *Salem's Lot* (2004) as Ann Norton, *The Lost World* (1999) as Mrs Krux and *Home and Away* (1988). She has also directed plays and written screenplays, including the short film *Memento*, and has taught dramatic arts at Queenwood School for Girls.
