## Biography

Elizabeth-Anne Wheal is a British television writer. She began her career as a journalist and historian before moving into scriptwriting for television in the early 1990s.

She has written numerous episodes for British crime drama series, including *Midsomer Murders*, *The Bill*, *Blue Murder* and *Dalziel and Pascoe*. Wheal has also authored historical reference works on the First and Second World Wars, and has worked as a script consultant, mentor and teacher of fiction writing and journalism. She is a former chair of the Scriptwriters Group at the Society of Authors.
