## Biography

Elizabeth Hill (1901–1978) was an American screenwriter. She began her career in Hollywood as a studio stenographer before working as a script girl.

Hill collaborated frequently with director King Vidor, whom she married in 1932. Her credits include the scenario for *Our Daily Bread* (1934), the original story for *The Texas Rangers* (1936), and the screenplay (with Ian Dalrymple and Frank Wead) for *The Citadel* (1938). She received further credits on *Northwest Passage* (1940, uncredited contribution), *H. M. Pulham, Esq.* (1941) and the story for *Streets of Laredo* (1949). She was nominated for an Academy Award for the screenplay of *The Citadel*.
