## Biography

Elizabeth Jenns was a British actress. Born Muriel Elizabeth Jenns in January 1911 in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England, she began her career modelling in London and New York before appearing on the West End stage in Noël Coward's *Words and Music* in 1932. Her film debut was in the 1933 British production *Channel Crossing*, followed by supporting roles in *The Fortunate Fool* (1933), *Love, Life and Laughter* (1934), *Leave It to Blanche* (1934), *Full Circle* (1935) and *Jimmy Boy* (1935).

She made her American film debut as Anita Regis in the 1937 drama *A Star Is Born*, her final screen role. Jenns retired from acting after marrying journalist Harry Crocker in 1936; the marriage ended in divorce in 1939. She later married Gardner Clarence Carpenter, with whom she had two children, and died on 11 January 1968 in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States.
