Elizabeth McBride was an American costume designer whose work featured in several notable films of the late 1980s and 1990s. She received her first screen credit on *Tender Mercies* (1983) and went on to design costumes for *Driving Miss Daisy* (1989), for which she earned an Academy Award nomination, *Thelma & Louise* (1991), *Fried Green Tomatoes* (1991) and *The Shawshank Redemption* (1994).

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, McBride began her career in Dallas before moving into film. She specialised in period and regional American clothing, particularly Southern styles. Her later credits included *Assassins* (1995) and *Michael* (1996). She died of cancer in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 1997 at the age of 42.
