Ellen Foley is an American actress and singer. Born on 5 June 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri, she attended Webster University and studied acting at HB Studio in New York City.

She has appeared in films including *Hair* (1979), *Tootsie* (1982) as Jacqui, *Fatal Attraction* (1987) as Hildy, *Cocktail* (1988) as Eleanor and *Married to the Mob* (1988) as Theresa. On television she played Billie Young in the second season of *Night Court* (1984–85). Her stage work includes Broadway productions of the revival of *Hair*, *Me and My Girl* and a replacement role as the Witch in *Into the Woods* (1989).

Foley is also known for her singing, notably the duet "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" with Meat Loaf on the 1977 album *Bat Out of Hell*, and she has released several solo albums.
