## Biography

Ellen Hillingsø is a Danish actress. Born in Copenhagen on 9 March 1967, she trained at the Aarhus Theatre Academy, graduating in 1994 after earlier work as a television host.

She began her career on stage at Aarhus Theatre and has appeared in Danish films including *Mifune* (1999) and *Shake It All About* (2001). On television she has played Charlotte Söringer in *The Bridge* (2011) and Helle Uggerby in *Rita* (2012). She also works as a voice actress and audiobook narrator.

Hillingsø received the Robert Award for best supporting actress for her role in *Sekten* (1997). She is married to Christoffer Castenskiold.
