Muth trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. Her early roles included Young Selena in the 1995 film *Dolores Claiborne* and a guest appearance in the eighth season of *Law & Order*. She is best known for playing Georgia 'George' Lass in the Showtime series *Dead Like Me* (2003–2004) and its 2009 film sequel *Dead Like Me: Life After Death*. In 2013 she appeared as Georgia Madchen in two episodes of the series *Hannibal*.
