## Biography

Ellen Sandler is an American television writer, producer, script consultant and educator. She began her career writing for prime-time series including *Taxi* (1978), for which she contributed two episodes in 1981, *Kate & Allie* and *Coach*.

Sandler served as co-executive producer and writer on the Emmy-winning sitcom *Everybody Loves Raymond* (1996), contributing to multiple episodes between 1997 and 1999. She has written for more than twenty-five network comedy series and created pilots for several broadcasters. She is also the author of *The TV Writer's Workbook* (2007) and has taught television writing at UCLA Extension, The New School and other institutions. She founded the consulting firm Sandler Ink.
