## Biography

Elsa Buchanan (1908–2004) was an English actress. Born Elsie Winifred Buchanan Tinker in London, she made her stage debut at the age of three at the Palace Theatre. She was the first Briton admitted to the training school of the Académie Française.

She appeared in seventeen films in the United States during the 1930s, including *Peter Ibbetson* (1935) as Madame Pasquier and *Little Lord Fauntleroy* (1936) as Susan. She retired from acting after marrying merchant sailor Noll Charlton in 1938.
