## Biography

Emmanuel Carrère is a French writer, screenwriter and film director. Born in Paris on 9 December 1957, he is the author of novels including *The Adversary* (2000) and *Limonov* (2011). Several of his works have been adapted for the screen, and he has written and directed films such as *The Moustache* (2005) and *Between Two Worlds* (2022).

Carrère co-wrote the screenplay for *The Wizard of the Kremlin* (2026) with Olivier Assayas, based on the novel by Giuliano da Empoli. He also appears in the film as Edouard Vercambre.
