Eric Blakeney is an American screenwriter, producer and director. He was born on 14 September 1959 in The Bronx, New York.

Blakeney began his television career writing for series including *Crime Story* and *Moonlighting* (1985). He served as a story editor and writer on *Wiseguy* (1987–1988), receiving an Edgar Award nomination for the episode "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell". He later became showrunner on *21 Jump Street* (1987) and co-created its spin-off *Booker* (1989).

His feature film work includes writing and directing *Gun Shy* (2000). He also wrote the television film *Generation X* (1996).
