## Biography

Eric Brevig is an American film director and visual effects supervisor. He began his career in visual effects, working at companies including Dream Quest Images and Industrial Light & Magic.

He served as visual effects supervisor on films including *Total Recall* (1990), for which he shared an Academy Award for Special Achievement in Visual Effects; *Hook* (1991); *Men in Black* (1997); and *Pearl Harbor* (2001), the last of which also earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects. He directed episodes of the television series *Xena: Warrior Princess* (1995).

Brevig made his feature directorial debut with the 3D film *Journey to the Center of the Earth* (2008) and later directed *Yogi Bear* (2010). He has continued to work as a visual effects supervisor on later projects including *The Maze Runner* (2014) and *Doctor Sleep* (2019).
