## Biography

Eric Coulter is a British television producer. Born in Glasgow in 1961, he began his career in the early 1980s as a unit runner on Bill Forsyth's *Gregory's Girl*. He worked as a location manager and assistant director on numerous films, commercials and music videos before becoming a producer in the mid-1990s.

Coulter produced the BBC2 series *The Cops* (also known as *Stanton Blues*), which won BAFTA TV Awards for Best Drama Series in 1998 and 1999. He later served as Head of Drama at STV, overseeing productions including *Taggart*, *Rebus*, *High Times* and *Cracked*. He left STV in 2009 and founded SurefireTV in 2010.

His later credits as producer or executive producer include *Shetland*, *Our Girl*, *Bodyguard* (2018) and *Guilt*. *Bodyguard* earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.
