## Biography

Eric Pringle was a British writer for radio and television. He graduated with an honours degree in English from the University of Nottingham and began his career in insurance before turning to writing. His television credits include episodes of *Pretenders* (1972), *Kate* (1972) and *The Carnforth Practice* (1974).

Pringle wrote the *Doctor Who* (1963) serial *The Awakening*, broadcast in 1984, and adapted it as a novelisation published by Target Books in 1985. He also contributed radio plays and adaptations, including *Hymnus Paradisi* (2001), which won a Sony Award. Later he published the children's novel *Big George* (2001) and two sequels.
