Eric Stonestreet is an American actor. He was born on 9 September 1971 in Kansas City, Kansas, and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in sociology. He later studied improv and theatre in Chicago at the Second City and ImprovOlympic.

Stonestreet is best known for playing Cameron Tucker in the ABC sitcom *Modern Family* (2009–2020). For the role he received two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. His other credits include appearances in *Almost Famous* (2000), *The Island* (2005), *Bad Teacher* (2011) and voice work as Duke in *The Secret Life of Pets* (2016) and its 2019 sequel.
