Erik Aaes (27 April 1899 – 19 March 1966) was a Danish production designer, art director and set designer. He worked extensively in both theatre and film in Scandinavia and elsewhere in Europe.

He attended the Danish Naval Academy and studied art while assisting at Nordisk Films and the Folketeatret in Copenhagen. He later worked in Berlin and Paris, designing sets for films by directors including Alberto Cavalcanti and Jean Renoir, before returning to Denmark in 1933.

Aaes is noted for his collaborations with Carl Theodor Dreyer, serving as art director on *Day of Wrath* (1943) and production designer on *Ordet* (1955). His other credits include production design on *For freedom and justice* (1949), *Fellowship of the Frog* (1959) and *Hunger* (1966).
