## Biography

Erik Tarloff is an American screenwriter and novelist. He wrote episodes for several 1970s American sitcoms, including three for *M*A*S*H* (1974–1981) and three for *All in the Family* (1977). He also contributed to *The Jeffersons* (1975), *The Bob Newhart Show* (1972) and *Alice* (1976). For his television work he received a Primetime Emmy nomination.

Tarloff later turned to fiction. His novels include the national bestseller *Face-Time* (1998), *The Man Who Wrote the Book*, *All Our Yesterdays* and *The Woman in Black*. He is the son of screenwriter Frank Tarloff and lives in Berkeley, California.
