Ernest George Palmer was an American cinematographer who worked on more than 160 Hollywood films. His earliest known credit was the 1912 adaptation of *Ivanhoe*. He was born on 6 December 1885 in Kansas City, Missouri, and died on 22 February 1978 in Pacific Palisades, California.

Palmer’s credits include *7th Heaven* (1927), *Street Angel* (1928), *Cavalcade* (1933), *City Girl* (1930), *Blood and Sand* (1941) and *Broken Arrow* (1950). He won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography (shared with Ray Rennahan) for *Blood and Sand* and received nominations for *Four Devils* (1928), *Street Angel* (1929) and *Broken Arrow* (1950). He worked extensively for Fox and later 20th Century Fox.
