## Biography

Evan Katz is an American television writer and producer. He began his career in 1990 as a writer and producer on the television film *Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again*, and subsequently wrote episodes of series including *The Commish* and *JAG*.

Katz is best known for his work on the series *24* (2001), where he contributed as a writer, teleplay writer and story writer across multiple seasons from 2002, and served as executive producer from season four. He also created and executive produced *Special Unit 2* (2001), served as showrunner on *The Event* (2010), and co-created and showran *24: Legacy* (2017) with Manny Coto. He received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006 for *24* and a Writers Guild of America Award for Episodic Drama in 2004 for a *24* episode.
