## Biography

Fanny Brice, also credited as Fannie Brice, was an American comedian, singer and actress. Born Fania Borach in New York City on 29 October 1891, she began performing in burlesque and vaudeville before being discovered by Florenz Ziegfeld. She became a regular in the Ziegfeld Follies from 1910, appearing in multiple editions through the 1930s.

Brice made several film appearances, including playing herself in *The Great Ziegfeld* (1936) and appearing in *Ziegfeld Follies* (1945). She created and starred as the mischievous child Baby Snooks on radio from the mid-1930s until her death. She died in Los Angeles on 29 May 1951.
