## Biography

Félix 'Chango' Monti is an Argentine cinematographer born on 6 January 1938 in La Quiaca, Jujuy. He began working as a director of photography in the mid-1970s.

Monti has served as cinematographer on numerous Argentine and international productions. His credits include *The Official Story* (1985), *Tangos, the Exile of Gardel* (1985), *The Journey* (1992), *The Secret in Their Eyes* (2009) and *The Weasel's Tale* (2019). He has collaborated repeatedly with directors including Fernando Solanas, Luis Puenzo, María Luisa Bemberg and Juan José Campanella.

Both *The Official Story* and *The Secret in Their Eyes* won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Monti became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2016.
