## Biography

Fergus O'Brien is a British television director. He began his career as a documentary producer and director before moving into drama in 2016.

His drama credits include the BBC single dramas *Against the Law* (2017) and *Mother's Day* (2018), lead direction on series three of *The A Word* (2020), and episodes of *Gentleman Jack* series two (2022), *Happy Valley* series three (2023) and *The Tourist* series two (2024). He has also directed *Tommy & Tuppence* (2025).

*Mother's Day* won the Banff Rockie Award for Best Television Movie in 2019. O'Brien has received BAFTA nominations for his work.
