## Biography

Fern Britton is an English television presenter and author. She trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and began her career as a continuity announcer and newsreader in the South West of England before moving to national television.

She co-presented BBC's *Breakfast Time* in the 1980s and hosted the cookery game show *Ready Steady Cook* from 1994 to 2000. Britton presented ITV's *This Morning* from 1999 to 2009 alongside Phillip Schofield. She has also presented *Fern Britton Meets...* and appeared as herself in series including *Absolutely Fabulous* (2003), *Extras* (2006) and *Bad Girls* (2006).

Britton has written several novels and non-fiction books. She is the daughter of actor Tony Britton.
