## Biography

Filip Šovagović is a Croatian actor, playwright and director. Born on 13 September 1966 in Zagreb, he is the son of actor Fabijan Šovagović and the brother of actress Anja Šovagović-Despot. He trained at the Academy of Dramatic Art at the University of Zagreb and has been a member of the ensemble at the Gavella Drama Theatre in Zagreb since 1995.

Šovagović is known for his role as Cera in the 2001 film *No Man's Land*, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He has appeared in numerous Croatian films and television series, including the comedy series *Naša mala klinika*. In 2005 he made his directorial début with the film *Pušća Bistra*.

As a playwright, Šovagović has written five plays; his work *The Brick* (Cigla) won the Prix Italia. He has also directed short films and received several Zlatna arena awards for his acting.
