## Biography

Foltin is a Macedonian band formed in 1995. The group takes its name from Karel Čapek's novel *Life and Work of the Composer Foltýn*. Its members blend indie, alternative, world music, funk, electroacoustic and jazz styles, and have performed in a theatrical, cabaret-influenced manner since the late 1990s.

Foltin has composed for theatre and film since 1998–1999. Its film scores include *This Is Not an American Movie* (2010), *The Balkan Is Not Dead* (2012), *Lake of Apples* (2016), *Secret Ingredient* (2017), *Avec L'amour* (2017) and the documentary *Honeyland* (2019), directed by Ljubomir Stefanov and Tamara Kotevska. The *Honeyland* soundtrack was later released as a suite.
