## Biography

France Delahalle was a French actress. She was born Marie Madeleine Émilie Françoise Delahalle on 20 August 1922 in Paris and died there on 8 February 2004.

She trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique, graduating in the class of 1948. Delahalle appeared in films including *PlayTime* (1967), in which she played a shopper in a department store, *J'ai tué Raspoutine* (1967) and *Ils* (1970). She also worked extensively in television and theatre, with credits including episodes of *Au théâtre ce soir* (1970–1981) and *Les enquêtes du commissaire Maigret* (1980).

From the 1980s she co-directed the Théâtre Saint-Georges in Paris with her partner Georges Herbert.
