## Biography

Frances Drake, born Frances Morgan Dean, was an American actress. She began her career in London as a nightclub dancer and stage performer under the name Frances Dean, making her screen debut in British films in 1933 before moving to Hollywood in 1934.

Paramount Pictures changed her professional name to Frances Drake. She appeared in *Les Misérables* (1935) as Eponine, *Mad Love* (1935) as Yvonne Orlac and *The Invisible Ray* (1936) as Diana Rukh. Other credits include *Bolero* (1934), *Forsaking All Others* (1934) and *The Affairs of Martha* (1942). She retired from acting in the early 1940s after her marriage to Lt. the Hon. Cecil John Arthur Howard.

Drake died in Irvine, California, on 18 January 2000.
