Frances Tempest is a British costume designer born in 1948. She has designed for film, television and theatre, including productions at the National Theatre and the English National Opera.

Her credits include the films *Calendar Girls* (2003), *Greenfingers* (2001) and *Under the Skin* (1997), and the television productions *A Rather English Marriage* (1998), *A Respectable Trade* (1998) and *Breaking the Code* (1996). She also worked on series such as *Robin Hood* (2006–2007) and *Agatha Christie's Marple*.

Tempest has received four Emmy nominations and three BAFTA nominations, and won a BAFTA award for *A Respectable Trade*.
