Francis Megahy was a British director and writer. He was born on 18 March 1935 in Manchester and died on 1 May 2020 in Los Angeles.

He directed episodes of the television series *Dempsey and Makepeace* (1985), *Lovejoy* (1986, for which he also wrote), *Minder*, *The Professionals* and *Hammer House of Horror*. His feature films as director include *The Great Riviera Bank Robbery* (1979) and *Taffin* (1988). Megahy also wrote screenplays and directed numerous documentaries.
