## Biography

Françoise Collin was a French film editor. She was born on 15 June 1937 in the 12th arrondissement of Paris and died on 16 February 2026 in Pérignat-lès-Sarliève. She trained at the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques (IDHEC), graduating in the 14th promotion (1957–1959).

Collin began her career in 1961 as a co-editor of *Chronicle of a Summer*, directed by Jean Rouch and Edgar Morin. She went on to edit five films by Jean-Luc Godard in the 1960s, including *Band of Outsiders* (1964), *A Married Woman* (1964), *Pierrot le Fou* (1965), *Made in U.S.A.* (1966) and *2 or 3 Things I Know About Her* (1967). She also worked as script supervisor on *The Trial of Joan of Arc* (1962).

Later credits include three films for Philippe Garrel: *Night Wind* (1999), *Wild Innocence* (2001) and *Regular Lovers* (2005). Her final credit was the short *Histoire naturelle* (2006). Over a 45-year career she amassed more than thirty editing credits on both features and documentaries.
