## Biography

Frank Beascoechea was an American cinematographer and occasional television director. Born in San Francisco, California, on 15 October 1934, he entered the motion-picture industry in 1959 and became a director of photography in 1975 while working at Universal Studios.

He served as director of photography on the series *Kojak* (1973), *Buck Rogers in the 25th Century* (1979), *Galactica 1980* (1980) and *The Equalizer* (1985), as well as the feature *No Holds Barred* (1989) and numerous television films. Beascoechea was also credited as a director on episodes of *Hart to Hart* (1979) and *Beauty and the Beast* (1987).

A member of the American Society of Cinematographers from 1982, he died in California on 6 September 2016.
