## Biography

Frank Campeau was an American actor. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he began his career on the stage and appeared in several Broadway productions between 1904 and 1916, including *The Virginian* and *Believe Me, Xantippe*.

Campeau made his screen debut in the 1911 short *Kit Carson's Wooing* and went on to appear in more than 90 films up to 1940. He frequently played supporting roles in silent westerns and adventure films, notably alongside Douglas Fairbanks in fifteen pictures and in John Ford's *3 Bad Men* (1926) as 'Spade' Allen. Other credits include an uncredited part as a welfare officer in Charlie Chaplin's *The Kid* (1921), an extra in *Intolerance* (1916), and General Sheridan in D. W. Griffith's *Abraham Lincoln* (1930). He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.
