## Biography

Frank Rollmer was a French film producer active in the 1930s. He co-produced *Grand Illusion* (1937), directed by Jean Renoir, with Albert Pinkovitch for the production company Réalisation d'art cinématographique (RAC), which he ran alongside Alexandre Pinkéwitch and Albert Pinkéwitch. The film was the first foreign-language production nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.

The nomination at the 1939 Academy Awards was awarded to the production company as a whole, as individual producer credits were not recognised until 1950. RAC's other productions included *Jenny* (1936), *La Marseillaise* (1938) and *Ramuntcho* (1938).
