## Biography

Frank South is an American television writer, producer and occasional director. His early credits include the teleplays for the 1982 television films *Precious Blood* and *Rattlesnake in a Cooler*, adapted from his stage plays. He wrote one episode of the series *Hill Street Blues* in 1985 and contributed multiple episodes to *Cagney & Lacey* between 1985 and 1987, also serving as story editor on the latter.

South created the series *Models Inc.* (1994) and *Going to Extremes* (1992–1993). He worked extensively on *Melrose Place* (1992–1998) as writer, supervising producer, co-executive producer and executive producer, and later as co-executive producer and writer on *Baywatch* (2000–2001). He has been married to Margaret South since December 1985; they have two children.
