## Biography

Frank Sullivan (1896–1972) was an American film editor. Born Franklin Starbuck Sullivan in St. Paul, Minnesota, he was the younger brother of screenwriter C. Gardner Sullivan. He began working in Hollywood in the 1920s and edited more than ninety films over a career that lasted until the early 1960s.

Sullivan is credited as editor on *The Philadelphia Story* (1940), *Fury* (1936), *Shanghai Express* (1932), *Tarzan Finds a Son!* (1939), *Joan of Arc* (1948), *A Woman's Face* (1941), *I Bury the Living* (1958), *Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo* (1944), *Spite Marriage* (1929) and *Mata Hari* (1931). He received an Academy Award nomination for his work on *Joan of Arc*. He was under contract at MGM from 1925 to 1947.
