Fred Dekker is an American screenwriter and film director. He was born on 9 April 1959 in San Francisco, California.

Dekker attended UCLA as an English major. His early credits include the story for *House* (1985). He wrote and directed *Night of the Creeps* (1986) and *The Monster Squad* (1987), the latter co-written with Shane Black. He also wrote episodes for the television series *Tales from the Crypt* and directed and co-wrote the screenplay for *RoboCop 3* (1993) with Frank Miller.

Dekker wrote several episodes of *Star Trek: Enterprise* in the early 2000s. He co-wrote the screenplay for *The Predator* (2018) with Shane Black.
