Fred Murphy (also credited as Fred V. Murphy II) is an American cinematographer. Born in New York in 1942, he is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.

His feature credits as director of photography include *Secret Window* (2004), *Stir of Echoes* (1999), *October Sky* (1999), *Freddy vs. Jason* (2003), *RV* (2006) and *The Mothman Prophecies* (2002). On television he shot five episodes of the first season of *Fringe* (2008) and more than 100 episodes of *The Good Wife* (2009–2016).

Murphy has received multiple Primetime Emmy nominations for his television work, including for *The Good Wife* and *In Treatment*.
