## Biography

Freddie Highmore, born Alfred Thomas Highmore on 14 February 1992 in London, is an English actor. He began his career as a child actor and appeared as Peter Llewelyn Davies in the film *Finding Neverland* (2004).

Highmore is also known for his roles in *Charlie and the Chocolate Factory* (2005), *August Rush* (2007) and *The Spiderwick Chronicles* (2008). He later starred as Norman Bates in the television series *Bates Motel* (2013–2017) and as Dr. Shaun Murphy in *The Good Doctor* (2017–2024), on which he also worked as a producer.

Highmore was educated at Highgate School and Emmanuel College, Cambridge. His father is the actor Edward Highmore.
